Sun Top * Mountain Bike Trail
Typical Season: Summer and Fall
Location : Approximately 10 minutes south of Greenwater,Washington on Highway 410. From Greenwater travel south on 410 until you reach Forest Road 73. Turn west and cross the White River on a bridge where you can park on the right near the Skookum Flats trailhead.

Short Description of trails: Pedal from the car southwest down FSR 73 until you reach FSR 7315 in about 3/4 mile. Turn left onto 7315 and climb up the gravel road. This road twists it's way around for about 5 miles until you reach an intersection. Take a right and continue around the gate if necessary and wind around all the way to the summit of Sun Top where the lookout is located. There is at least one picnic table and nice views. From here take the trail 1183 back down through rocks and across FSR 7315. Climb on your mountain bike up and along the ridge for a ways. Finally the trail begins a descent which will take you across the Buck Creek drainage. You are now traversing below Fawn Ridge and will cross a road and continue down making a left at one intersection shortly after crossing this road. Navigate out into old clear cut which reveals views of the Palisades on a good day. Take the main trails all the way down until you are pushed out onto the edge of the Ranger Creek Airfield. Make a left on the road and travel about one mile. Make a right onto the main road. Shortly before the White River take the Skookum Flats trail north. This travels along the White River, over logs, up and down root systems and other obstacles for about 5.5 miles. It will deposit you at the start point.
